Student Spotlight

We are very proud of our current student body and excited about the experiences and knowledge they bring with them to the Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM). Our students have received their undergraduate degree from leading research and teaching institutions such as Stanford University and from smaller local liberal arts institutions such as Indiana’s Earlham College.  Increasing diversity within the School of Medicine to better reflect our service area is an important goal of the Graduate Division.  Our current efforts to increase diversity are reflected in the excellent students we have recruited from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) such as Tougaloo College, Jackson State, Xavier University of Louisiana, and Grambling State University to name a few.  Many of our students have come from as far away as China and India to train at the IUSM.   Learn from our students where they have come from, what inspired them to pursue a graduate degree, and why they chose to contribute to biomedical research at the Indiana University School of Medicine.

Alumni Spotlight

Our alumni hold academic postdoc positions at leading research universities and governmental postdoc positions at organizations such as the National Institute of Health, one the world's leading medical research centers, and the Federal hub for medical research in the United States.  Others go directly into industry as Research Specialists or hold tenure-track faculty positions at universities and colleges. Hear what our alumni have to say about their experience in graduate school and how the Indiana University School of Medicine has prepared them for their career in the biomedical sciences.

Faculty Spotlight

The Indiana University School of Medicine is home to many brilliant minds of today: to name a few, Lawrence H. Einhorn, M.D., internationally recognized for developing the 'Einhorn regimen' that converted testicular carcinoma from a universally fatal to a curable disease and was used to cure seven time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong; and Keith March, M.D., known world-wide for developing a closing technique used after heart catheterization that significantly reduces the time (from 6 hours or more to 75 minutes) and manner in which the femoral artery is closed.   Read what our faculty members are saying about why they have joined other Indiana University School of Medicine faculty in their pursuit to solve many of the unanswered questions in the biomedical sciences.
