Career Development and Opportunities
The Indiana University School of Medicine – Graduate Division and IUPUI offer many career development opportunities including forums on careers in industry and academia and the nationally recognized Preparing Future Faculty (PFF) program.   On this page you will also find information on careers held by medical and biological scientists as well as other career development resources such as ScienceCareers.Org and other local networking organizations for those involved in the advancement of life sciences in Indiana.

Teacher Learner Advocacy Committee

Graduate Student Organization (GSO)
The mission of the Graduate Student Association (GSO) is to improve the quality of graduate and professional student life by relaying the needs of graduate and professional students to the IUPUI administration and the general student body.

The School of Medicine - Graduate Division has a parallel GSO which is made up of one student representative from each of the 10 programs.  The Graduate Division is represented on the campus-wide GSO by the two co-leaders of the Graduate Division GSO.  

The Underrepresented Professional & Graduate Organization (UPnGo)
The mission of the Underrepresented Professional & Graduate Organization is to enhance of the graduate experience for minority students at IUPUI.  These efforts extend across the entire spectrum of the graduate experience.

IUSM – Graduate Division Student Ambassador Program
In this program, graduate student ambassadors visit their undergraduate institution to describe their graduate experience and the Indiana University School of Medicine graduate programs.  To encourage the personal scientific and professional development of the student ambassadors, the program also funds a trip for the student to a professional meeting in their discipline chosen by the student and their mentor.

IUSM - Graduate Division Student Mentor Program
A program with the goal to provide peer support to new graduate students at the IUSM.

Center for the Business of Life Sciences Student Associates 
A program open to graduate and post-doctoral science students in Bloomington and at IUPUI. For more information on the program, benefits, requirements, and the application process, please visit http://www.kelley.indiana.edu/lifesc/.
